On our way to the lake, we made a stop to see some old friends in Statesville, NC. This is also where my Grandma (Gigi) drove and met us, so we could take her the rest of the way. It was wonderful to stop and let Pax run around, nice to meet Baby Alexa, and so great to catch up with old friends!

We have been friends with the Grissinger's since Kevin and I were little. Then, they moved to Illinois, but our families have always stayed in touch. Now that Kevin and I both have a little one, this visit was way over due! Jean and Gary, Kevin's parents, were in town visiting, so we also got to see them!

Paxton was intrigued by Alexa for a little while, but then he became more interested in the dogs, baby-proofing their house, and climbing the stairs by himself! That's right--he made it to the top of their stairs in no time flat and before we caught him! Thank goodness he made it safely. Brad rushed to the top and brought him down safely. Wow! We were lucky!

Thanks for having us, Kevin and Stacy! We need to plan another trip to see each other!
