Happy Birthday, Papa!

Today was Papa's birthday, and we headed to Covington to celebrate this afternoon! We had a wonderful lunch, and enjoyed hanging out with the family. Being that tomorrow is Monday, and Pax was going to have to ride back to Covington in the morning, we decided that we would let him spend the night! Mimi and Papa were so excited, and Papa said this was the best birthday present! Happy birthday, Papa! We love you!

Little House in the Big House

I was in the window talking to him.

Paxton climbing in the window to Brad

Looking for someone out the window

Aww-night night!

He LOVED this game!

After setting up all the pool furniture, we were left with some really cool boxes. Mom suggested that we make a little house for Pax out of one of them. So, Brad cut some windows and a door and he had a blast playing in it! He loved looking in the windows, and would laugh every time I poked my head through a window. He kept saying, "Momma," and I figured out that he wanted me to climb in! He then figured out he could fit his body through one of the windows, and that became the new game! At the end, he even took 2 pillows in and pretended to sleep. He's so funny when he does this, because he lays down and turns his head and makes the snoring sound. He then expects you to startle him awake! Another fun little game he's started!

Slumber Party

Ok-I don't have pictures, but Paxton had his first slumber party last night--with TWO GIRLS! Mom and Dad had some people over for a pool party, and I asked Megan (9th grade) and Caroline (6th grade) to come and watch Pax. At bed time, they took turns laying down with him. They were very disappointed when their parents told them it was time to leave. Then we suggested that they just go ahead and sleep upstairs with Pax for the night. They eagerly agreed and were back upstairs before I could even give them instructions! Hahaha! They said Pax did really well, and I'm pretty sure they enjoyed sleeping with him. He sure was in a good mood when he woke up! Thanks, girls, for being so great with Pax! I know he loves yall!

Cute boys!

We have thoroughly been enjoying the pool this last week! We swam almost every day after school, and that's why there weren't any posts from the week. You know, it's pretty hard to take pictures while you're swimming!? Anyway, I made sure to take the camera out today to get some pictures of Adam while he was home again, and also of the family playing and swimming in our beautiful pool!

Meeting Baby Knox

Brad and Knox

Pax used to have this same one--and must have remembered it, because he loved it!

Pax giving Knox knuckles

Now he's giving him a little blanket

Isn't he sweet!?!?

Pax really wanted to take his paci!

We drove to Birmingham to meet Matt and Andrea's baby, Knox. Matt and Brad were roommates in college, and the guys have really stayed in touch. Knox is 7 weeks old, and absolutely precious! He is such a beautiful baby, and was so sweet! It made me miss Pax being that size, but it seems like it was forever ago!

Pax really liked the "baby" and kept trying to give him a little blanket. So sweet! He also enjoyed playing with their two dogs. It's a shame Pax doesn't have his own dog!! (Just kidding, Brad!)

Uh-Oh!

Uh-oh is right! Pax is officially a little boy and toddler now!!

I tried to put him down for a nap at Mom and Dad's after we swam, and it didn't go too well! I let him cry, then went in and calmed him down. Then we tried it again. I listened to him on the monitor and heard him knocking on something. I thought it was the dresser or bed frame. So, I went in, but didn't make it far, because I bumped into something. That something was Pax!!!! I was shocked, and couldn't help but laugh, too!!! I wish we had the video monitor over there so I could have seen how he climbed out of the pack-n-play. But, I'm pretty sure he climbed on the Boppy pillow that he LOVES sleeping on, and lifted himself up that way.

It was funny, because he ended up with his paci and his blanket when he climbed out. I have no clue how he managed that, either!

So, it turns out he was knocking on the door!

The reason I say uh-oh is because he sleeps in a pack-n-play everywhere but home. So, we can't have him climbing out just yet!!

WE ARE SWIMMING!

Kyle and Pax

Playing Lacrosse

We already have lots of toys!

Brad and Pax (with a mohawk), with Dayne and Adam in the background

Pax LOVES giving Top Spin his treat, and can do it all by himself now. Too cute!

Top Spin takes it so gently from him.

Wahoo!!! After 14 days of construction (that started July 20th), and about 60 hours of filling the pool, we can finally swim!!! It's so exciting! After we went to church, we spent the entire day in the pool! Pax enjoyed swimming, but also liked walking around the slippery pool deck and playing with the balls and goals. He sure isn't afraid of the water!

Bob, Kyle, and Blake stopped by, and brought Pax mini lacrosse sticks. Kyle loves playing lacrosse and found these kid-friendly ones for his "little brother," as he calls Pax! Pax really liked walking around with them. It was such a sweet gift!

It's sort of surreal that Mom and Dad have a pool now! Everyone is enjoying it, and I'm glad Adam was able to swim before he headed off to his J-O-B. He got the job as assistant tennis coach at his college. I know he'll do a great job recruiting, and will love being in the college atmosphere and around the students! We will miss him, and I think he is a little torn now that Pax adores him and plays with him, and that Mom and Dad built a pool!! He'll have to come visit a lot!
I'm sure we'll spend a lot of time here in the pool this week and month! We have to get the most out of the end of the season that we can!

Pool Construction-Day 13

Sat morning

The guys laid sod around this tree! It looks so good!

It took 6 guys to move the hot tub under the deck to where the screened porch will be built around it.

Pax playing in the big pile of gravel

A little bit more water in the pool

Look at how absolutely filthy he is!! He is shirtless because he smushed a blueberry on his shirt and we were trying to get the stain out!

Suzie and Brad playing tennis

Wes, Blair, and Ms. Kimmel playing tennis

And more water!!

Still more water--testing out the pool light

Mom and Dad being the first ones in the pool!

It's so exciting---the pool is being filled up! But, it's taking FOREVER!! We started yesterday at 12:45, and it's still not done. I thought it would be full today, but it looks like it's going to be tomorrow before we can truly swim. Pax really couldn't care less about the pool--he's just loving the piles of rocks and dirt that go with building a pool!

Suzie and Brad and his family came over to play tennis this afternoon. I had to take some pictures of them! I'm so glad they came over, and it was great to see them!

Happy Birthday, Uncle DC!

Birthday boy, DC, and Cindy

Daddy and Pax playing in the fountain

Pax loved the spray from the fountain!

He sat with Uncle D.D. for a while! How sweet!
Pax was very fascinated with Katie.

The concrete bottom of the pool

Today is Uncle DC's birthday--or as Pax calls him, D.D. I think this is too funny because I was actually the one that couldn't say his real name, Dennis, when I was 2, and ended up renaming him. So, now it's only fitting that my son doesn't say DC, and now has renamed him again!

Also, after days 11 and 12 of pool construction, we have a pool bottom! Tomorrow, Kent will drop the liner and we start filling it up!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Adam!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Adam! We celebrated by going to eat at Fabiano's pizza and then eating cake and ice cream! I can't believe he is 22 years old now!
