Thanks, Aunt Sarah!

When we first got into the elephant activity presentation

He had to have a stick in his hand!

The panda eating bamboo

Pax thought this was pretty fun!

The kangaroos were "night-night" Pax told us

Brushing the goats in the petting area

He loved them!

In front of the turtle exhibit

Showing us the birds--he was super excited to see them

They were really pretty

They had feeding sticks you could offer the birds

Posing as meerkats with Daddy

Looking at the African Plains animals

Looking at the "neigh" or zebra

I'm not sure if the rhino was supposed to be in there or not---it was the moat right below where people could stand to see the giraffes, rhinos, and zebras.

the lions

A lone gorilla

A gorilla in a hammock

The orangutan--I think he's actually kind of cute here!

We had another fun day today, and we did another "first" for Pax!! Aunt Sarah bought us tickets to take Paxton to the Atlanta Zoo for his birthday. I wanted to wait until it was a little cooler, and today was the perfect day! It was a little overcast, and 76 degrees when we arrived! Right when we got there, they were doing a demonstration in the elephant house. At first, Pax didn't know what to think, but then he loved it, and kept making the elephant sound! Even when we were looking at all the other animals, he couldn't get the elephant out of his mind! We ended up seeing them two more times before we left.

His other favorite was the part where you can pet the animals. They have sheep, goats, and pigs in a pen that you can go in to pet and brush them. Pax loved that and was walking all over the place from one "baa" to another! He was in his element!! He wasn't too happy when we had to leave, but quickly forgot when he got to play in the water to wash his hands!

It was difficult to capture the excitement in his face in the pictures, but you can sure see the wonder as he sees some of these animals for the first time! Pax was so excited to see them, and was such a good sport! We were hoping he would take a nap on the way in, so we didn't put him down this morning. Well, of course, he didn't want any of that. So, he didn't fall asleep until we were on our way home around 2:30! Such a good boy!!

Last night's pictures weren't taken with the good camera. Can't you see the difference in today's? Us big kids sure did have fun taking pictures! We all had a blast, and were worn out when we left! Thank you, Aunt Sarah, for such a great gift!!! Pax sure did enjoy the animals!
