Tonight I was drinking a Freeze from Krystal, and Doodlebug wanted some, just like he does with EVERYTHING I eat/drink! Being that he had never drank from a straw, I thought I'd be safe and appease him by letting him put the straw in his mouth. Well, you know where this is going...he actually sucked up some Pomegranate Freeze! I had my fingers on the straw, and as soon as I felt it getting cold, I pulled the straw out of his mouth. He shocked himself when he had something ice cold in his mouth, but he loved it and wanted more (which I did NOT oblige)! I definitely learned my lesson, though!
Little Man now has 8 teeth-5 up top, and 3 on the bottom-so he's starting to eat more "adult" food, but not a Pomegranate Freeze! For example, when we go eat Mexican food, he LOVES the tortillas, and when we eat Chinese/Japanese, he eats the fried rice (well, there is more in his high chair cover than I think he eats). Last night, we went to a Japanese steakhouse with Mick, Steph, and Micah, and he ate some of Micah's peas (not baby food), and even enjoyed those! I think he really just likes to feed himself, no matter what it is. It keeps him entertained, and allows us to have a peaceful dinner, so we'll take it!
