Happy Birthday, Baby Boy!

Our Sweet Three Year Old

To My Sweet Baby Boy,

I know you're not a baby at all anymore, but you'll always be my baby! Even this morning as I carried you to the car to spend the day with Mimi, I called you my sweet baby. Then, I corrected myself, saying you were a big boy! You were so cute as you said that Uncle Adam calls you a baby, but knew that he was teasing you! You have such a great sense of humor and have grown and changed so much in the last year. I love the nicknames that you have started to give people and how you giggle when you say them! This just shows your funny sense of humor (Momma Bear, Daddy-O, Popsy-Wopsy, for now).

I love how much you love me! Even when I am frustrated and am not the perfect parent (ever!!), you love me even more! You are so sympathetic and caring! When I am upset, you are right there beside me asking if I'm okay and if I'm still mad or frustrated! You are such a sweet and compasionate child, and I love that you are MY Momma's Boy!!

Even when you are sick and have strep throat (like today on your birthday) :-(, you are still worried about others! You are concerned when someone has a band-aid or gets even a minor cut. If we're cutting something, you always remind us to be careful. You also remind me to use 2 hands when I'm driving, even if I'm eating some gold fish! It's just priceless! But then, I love how you say to me, "Don't worry about me, Mommy!" Well, I will always worry about you because you are my baby! It's my job!

You are very complimentary, and have really worked hard on your manners! It was precious last night, when you were helping us bake your birthday cake. You told Daddy, "You're a good helper, Daddy!" Such a sweet 3 year old to think to compliment others, but you're always like that!! You always make us smile!!!

I know, with all these characteristics, you will be an amazing big brother!! I can't wait until Friday to see if you're going to have a baby brother or sister, even though you are certain it's a sister. I'm glad you're not calling it a puppy anymore!!! :-)

You are all boy, and just love life outside. You would play from sun up to sunset outside if we let you! You are very active, and becoming more and more fun to play with! I have enjoyed watching you learn to play t-ball while having fun with your friends! I can't wait for this summer and all the hours we'll spend on your new swing set and at the pool!!

A cute story from this morning: We have been talking about your birthday for a while now, and you have been so excited! You have helped us plan your safari birthday party, and you know all about it! You even say, "this would be good for my party!" Well, you got upset this morning when I woke you up singing "Happy Birthday to you!" You said that it wasn't your birthday, and that we were having it at Pops and Grandma's with all your friends! You didn't want it to be in your bed by yourself! It was so sweet and made me laugh!! I just love your Amelia Bedelia self!!

Your Daddy and I are so lucky to have you!! We couldn't ask for a better son! You are amazing and we thank God every day for sending you to us! We can't wait to see what God has in store for you over the next year!

I love you to the moon and back, precious boy!!

A Full Day's Work and Play

At the church Easter Egg hunt

It only took him a couple seconds to get the hang of it, and then his basket was full in no time!

Brad and Me

It was a fun-filled Saturday around here, full of work and play. Our T-ball game was cancelled, so Brad headed to Mom and Dad's to work some more, while we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at church. Pax got lots of eggs and candy that he willingly shared with all of us at lunch! :-)

Later that night, Brad and I headed to Jami's 30th birthday party at the W Hotel in Buckhead. It was a late night, but we had a lot of fun!

A Rare Occasion

Pax and Brad spent their Friday working at Mom and Dad's getting ready for his party. Mom sent me this picture on the phone. He NEVER just falls asleep! This was such a rare occasion that I had to document it!

They were cutting the grass and then Mom asked him if he wanted to turn around and take his nap on the tractor. He said yes, and this was the result! He wouldn't even take his glasses off!! Sweet boy!

A Fishy 16 Weeks

16 week belly picture
Christian and Pax with his fish!

We had my 16 week check up and all went well! We heard the heartbeat right away this time, and it was 160 bpm! Thank goodness!

After the appointment, we headed to Mom and Dad's and then Christian came over and let Pax fish with him. Christian caught a couple fish right away. Then, he left one on the hook, and let Pax reel it in! We won't tell Pax that part, though, and we'll pretend this was his first fish, even if it was tiny!!

A True Break

Check out his big boy haircut, courtesy of Brad and the clippers!

The fort...a work in progress. Check out Pax's new work gloves he had to have! We bought those to keep him from wearing mittens to help outside!

Sunday...pool day

Spring break was actually spent at home! We didn't have any big plans or any big vacations! That is SOOO not like us! Rather we took a break and relaxed on my time off. I really enjoyed my week with Pax, and we spent it playing and hanging out with not much discipline going on at all!!! Yay!!!

We hung out with Mom and did some shopping, I got a massage (courtesy of one of my students), played with Dallas, met Sarah at the mall, I had a girls' night out, Pax got a hair cut, hung out with my Aunt Cindy when she came in town for the day, and enjoyed a weekend of sun and pool time. We also got some safari party planning and work in this week. All in all, it was a fabulous break, and I am sad to be back at work today!!! Only 7 more weeks until summer vacation, though!!!

Wedding Weekend

Ryan and Pax--buddies for the weekend

Wedding party

The bride with the groomsmen

Richard and Brad

March 6

We drove down to Albany, GA for Brad's best friend's wedding. He and Richard grew up together playing baseball and have remained close through the years. It was a very small wedding, but absolutely gorgeous! The rain held off for the outdoor ceremony, and the weather wasn't too chilly.

Pax became fast friends with the ring bearer and the two played so hard at the reception! Good thing he was there, because the reception ended up being 6 hours! The boys had so much fun, we had to throw Pax's pants away! He was so filfthy that we thought there was no hope of getting those stains out! Plus, they were a little on the small side!
